Thanks to the US-RSE Community and Travel Funds program, supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, I had the chance to bring together RSE team members from Purdue, Indiana University, and the University of Notre Dame for a meetup in Indianapolis. We wanted to better understand how each of our teams operate, where we’re running into the same challenges, and how we might work together to build something more intentional: a sustainable, connected US-RSE Indiana Regional Group.

I’m thankful to have been partially supported by US-RSE’s Community and Travel Funds program, using a grant from the Alfred P Sloan foundation, to attend the 2025 German RSE Conference (deRSE25), which was co-located with the 2025 German Software Engineering Conference (SE25). While at the conference in Karlsruhe, Germany, I presented one talk and one poster.

US-RSE’s DEI working group (DEI-WG) is proud to help US-RSE celebrate and participate in Black History Month. Each week during Black History Month, the US-RSE will spotlight Black/African Americans who have been involved in computing, science, engineering, and/or math, and have inspired our members through their accomplishments in their careers and their personal stories.
